For many people, waking up one morning to find that Banksy has adorned their home with his latest multimillion-pound artwork is the stuff of dreams.

But for Garry and Gokean Coutts, the artist leaving a 6m-tall seagull on the side of their home has led to a "living nightmare".

Since the mural appeared overnight at their home in Lowestoft, Suffolk, in 2021, the house has become a target for vandals, thieves and council bureaucrats telling them they need to spend tens of thousands of pounds to maintain it.

The couple have removed the 22-tonne artwork in an operation that involved closing the road and hiring a crane.
